Day dreams...

Day Dream Thing..

Psalm 119: 1-8
Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
Who walk in the law of the LORD!
Blessed are those who keep his testimonies.
Who seek him with their whole heart,

Who also do no wrong
But walk in his ways!
You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
Oh that my ways my be steadfast in keeping your statutes!
Then I shall not be put to shame,
Having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
I will praise you with an upright heart,
When I learn your righteous rule.
I will keep your statutes;
Do not utterly forsake me!

Psalm 119:12-16
Blessed are you, Oh LORD; teach me your statutes!
With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.
In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches.
I will meditates on your precepts and fic my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes;
I will not forget your word.

Psalm 119: 27
Make me understand the way of your precepts,
And I will meditate on your wondrous works.

Ok, this is my deal. I, as most girls, day dream. Its fun you can take yourself off into some wondrous world of adventure and romance. I am so sure that I am the ONLY girl who does this, ( I am rolling my eyes). I tend to dream about my future husband.

You dream of the Perfect Man, and if you have one in mind you think of him, and if not you make up the perfect GODLY man. And I don’t think that this is wrong. We live in a time where finding a Godly man is fairly hard to find. And we hope and pray that God will bring us “The One” , but in the mean time we can dream.

Now I am the worst, I want to be a missionary so I dream up some awesome adventure with an Indiana Jones type missionary counterpart who sweeps me off my feet. My dreams are full of danger and adventure and all sorts of awesomeness. (Sorry, girls, Indi trumps Edward 9 out of…well 9 times)

This is what we do.
If there is not particular guy we dream up the perfect one
And if there is the perfect one sitting next to you in class you skip that part.

Then we dream up how he will ask us out or how we meet in some awesome way.

Then how the relationship grows and is, again, awesome.

Then we dream up the perfect proposal… wonderfully romantic and thoughtful and perfect…

Then the wedding and then the life together, which for me entails missions and adventure and blah blah blah
Now, here I my challenge.

When you start this dreaming think of Jesus instead. Think of his wondrous glories, his marvelous wonder. Think of who he IS! Think of the God who created the universe. Created you and saved you.

If you want to ponder love, dwell on his love for you. The perfect romance, the prefect love. Let you mind drift towards the Christ, rather than to your future husband.

If God has a husband for you, wait on him, wait on the LORD his timing in perfect. But for now focus on Jesus, let your mind meditate on HIM!

Now, yes, pray for your future husband, as always, but let your mind Day dream about the Lover that you have right now, your savior king the LORD of power who rides the white horse and loves you with a passion that no earthly man could. Dream about him because he is with you and loves you NOW.
